On july 12 I threw my first D.I.Y show. Kind of. It wasn't much of a show since only 2 proper bands played and half the expected audience didn't show up. Still I was told it was such a blast that I should be doing more of these shows. Yes I want to do more shows like this because all Ive been doing is complaining about the local shows here. Money talks. Gone are the days of equal treatment amongst organizer and band and scene. Now we have to sell tickets or we play at the very last slot where over here everybody leaves before the last 5 bands play. People in bands here say to their friends to go to the shows to support the local scene. But what that usually translates to is Go to the shows and watch us and only us play. Now its about bieng cool. I would just like to give back to the scene that I left behind years ago and now I see that the scene here needs all the help it can get. July 19 will be a show from the Bataan Underground which well be playing at. Hopefully it will turn out good. Then the week after Ill be throwing another show and will try to get in contact with the bands that didnt get a chance to be heard.
