Murder

Ever since Company of Heroes was installed at my friends shop thats all I've been playing. My WoW character is stuck at Level 61 and I'm playing at least 6 hours a day of just Company Of Heroes. I even have a sometimes partner to play with me. Its all I talk about whenever I'm with some people. The day that I didn't play was when I went to the city to hang out with Igi at some overnight party. I didn't complain that I wasn't playing that day since I had a lot of fun anyway and when I'm not playing at night me and the shop guys are drinking away. I think I'm an alcoholic again.

I love every RTS that Relic makes. I've played both Homeworld games and the Warhammer 40,000 games and would still play it today.Maybe its because you control squads instead of individual units. i love it when the screen fills up with units that you can actually control well even in a huge battle in the center. I loved how they implemented a new way to get resources that has you going out there on the field instead of turtling your way to victory and in CoH they took it and really improved it since instead of getting a single resource you have to get 3 resources all by the capture and hold system. Also theres cover all around the enviroment be it around a few barrels , a fence or dead cows. The audio is also really well done where you can tell what is attack a squad and how they're doing out there. A nice little touch in the audio department is when a squad starts speaking when they're far offscreen making it sound like their talking to you through a radio and if there are explosions happening around there will be interference and and muffled sound getting through. Tanks can bust through walls to get to places and riflemen can throw sticky bombs to damage tanks and when artillery starts getting called in you can see debris and bodies flying around. What bums me out is I can't find enough people at the shop to play with me since they see the game as complicated. I accept this change in the RTS genre since im pretty sick of the way that games like Red Alert 2 played out wherein you can take down a main base with 3 prism tanks.Theres also that sense of teamwork in multiplayer games since you don't have your own mine to worry about. You have to go out there with a buddy and capture points together for both your sakes.I'm still trying to figure out a good strategy with the Infantry commander path but even though I get pretty good at that I think I can still be beaten if whoever I'm playing against handles his army right. I've lost matches where I had the right units but got beaten since I couldn't keep up with what my opponent was throwing at me. Even though momentum in the game is pretty good. I've been in matches where we would be losing by 300 points in the start but managed to catch up and win.I still want to play right now.

A bunch of new guildmates in WoW. It annoys my sister when all she sees in the guildchat is people talking about cheeseburgers or something. We had our first guild raid and it was fun until a level 70 guildmate denied me of a ring I needed. So much for helping out.I got a nice mace though.

So I went to the city a few days ago coz of this overnight party/eyeball thing that was happening. It was all good and fun except that I couldn't fit anymore stuff into my bad since I was bringing a lot of meat to grill and the stereo. But around sunset I jumped in the pull anyway, jeans and all.No hookups though and the store closed at night. Seriously what the fuck is up with that? They have this resort that allows overnight swimming but they didn't have the store open and the only place available was at ministop where the prices are higher and the rides were scarce. Yeah got to meet alot of nice people and my friendslist in Fster jumped quite a bit.

I'm going to end this early since I'm pretty wordless right now. But before I go I have to mention that CGW/GFW magazine is shutting down after 27 years of quality journalism of the gaming industry. Good thing the podcast is still alive. Also leaving is Dan Hsu of 1up, formerly of EGM magazine.

Sad and happy week its been indeed.
